International career

Haidous has made several appearances for the senior Qatar national football team, including a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Bahrain on 10 September 2008.[1][2] He generally plays as an attacking midfielder for his national team, whereas he plays as a striker for his club, Al Sadd.

Club career

Al Sadd

Haidous scored one of the winning penalty kicks in the penalty-shootout against Jeonbuk in the 2011 AFC Champions League, with the ball reflecting from the top post into the goal. The win saw Al Sadd break the 5-year dominance of the East Asia countries in the competition, and bring the trophy back to Qatar for the first time since 1988. This subsequently saw Al Sadd earn a place in the FIFA Club World Cup as the representative for Asia. In the third-place match between Al Sadd and Kashiwa Reysol, Haidous was selected to take one of the penalty kicks after the match had ended 0-0. The penalty shoot-out was won by Al Sadd 5-3, and was the first time a West Asian club had achieved the bronze medal in the competition.
